## Install once, then use ChatGPT and Claude as usual

### Add to Chrome

Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store.

### Sign in to SealGate

The extension opens a sign-in page. Sign in to your organization's SealGate, hosted or self-hosted.

### Open Web Agents

New tool calls show up on the [Web Agents](https://dashboard.sealgate.ai/dashboard/web-agents) page of your dashboard, grouped by conversation.

### What it sends to SealGate

- The app and tool that were called, for example Google Drive's search_files
- Whether ChatGPT or Claude made the call, and when
- The conversation the call belongs to

### What it never sends

- Your prompts or the agent's replies
- What was sent to a tool or what it returned

You can see your own calls on the Web Agents page. Your organization's SealGate admins can see everyone's.

## Chrome extension: FAQ

What does the SealGate Chrome extension do? It records the tool calls ChatGPT and Claude make to apps and connectors (MCP servers) while you use them in the browser. Each call is sent to your SealGate dashboard and listed on the Web Agents page, grouped by conversation.

Which sites and tools does it cover? ChatGPT (chatgpt.com) and Claude (claude.ai). It records calls to apps and connectors, not built-in tools such as web search, and only calls made by new answers while the extension is running. Calls already in a conversation's history are ignored.

What does it send, and what does it never send? For each call it sends the app and tool name, whether ChatGPT or Claude made it, the time, and the conversation it belongs to. It never sends your prompts, the agent's replies, or what was sent to a tool and returned. It runs only on chatgpt.com and claude.ai.

Who can see my tool calls? You can see your own calls on the Web Agents page of your SealGate dashboard. Admins of your SealGate organization can see the calls of everyone in the organization.

Does it block tool calls? No. The extension records calls and never blocks or changes a request. To enforce policy on a connector, route it through the SealGate gateway, which checks each call before it reaches your data.

What happens if I don't sign in? The extension still lists calls in its popup, but it keeps them only in browser memory and clears them when the browser closes. When you sign in, the calls are saved to SealGate, where you and your organization's admins can see them.

Can I use a self-hosted SealGate or my own collector? Yes. The extension can sign in to any SealGate instance, including a self-hosted one, or send calls to any OpenTelemetry endpoint over OTLP/HTTP instead.
