Yes. Hermes adds the SealGate gateway as an MCP server, which lets it use your Discord DMs tools. A local daemon tunnels the connector out, so the agent can reach it. Do I need a Discord bot or developer application? No. SealGate connects to your own Discord account through the Beeper desktop app, so there is no bot token or developer application to set up. Is it safe to give an AI agent access to Discord? Your Discord login is never stored on SealGate's servers. Every tool call runs through SealGate policy checks and an audit log that captures only metadata (which tool ran, when, and which agent ran it), never your DM content, so you stay in control without SealGate storing your messages. What does SealGate store about my messages? SealGate routes each tool call to your connector and back, holding the request and response in memory only long enough to apply your policies, then discarding them. That check is automated: the gateway inspects the traffic programmatically to enforce your rules, and no one at SealGate can read your messages. They are never persisted and never used to train any model. SealGate keeps only call metadata (which tool ran, when, and which agent ran it), never the tool-call parameters or results, so your conversations and who you are talking to are never stored on SealGate's servers. Does it work with cloud agents, not just CLI tools? Yes. A small local daemon called stdiod tunnels your local Discord connector to any cloud or mobile agent, so apps like ChatGPT and Claude can use it too, not just CLI tools on the same machine.
