Yes. Hermes adds the SealGate gateway as an MCP server, which lets it use your Instagram DMs tools. A local daemon tunnels the connector out, so the agent can reach it. Do I need the Instagram Graph API or a business account? No. SealGate connects to your own Instagram account through the Beeper desktop app, so there is no Graph API app or business account to provision. Is it safe to let an AI agent into my Instagram DMs? Your Instagram login is never stored on SealGate's servers. Every tool call runs through SealGate policy checks and an audit log that captures only metadata (which tool ran, when, and which agent ran it), never your DM content, so you control and can review what the agent does without SealGate storing your messages. What does SealGate store about my messages? SealGate routes each tool call to your connector and back, holding the request and response in memory only long enough to apply your policies, then discarding them. That check is automated: the gateway inspects the traffic programmatically to enforce your rules, and no one at SealGate can read your messages. They are never persisted and never used to train any model. SealGate keeps only call metadata (which tool ran, when, and which agent ran it), never the tool-call parameters or results, so your conversations and who you are talking to are never stored on SealGate's servers. Does it work with cloud agents, not just CLI tools? Yes. A small local daemon called stdiod tunnels your local Instagram connector to any cloud or mobile agent, so apps like ChatGPT and Claude can use it too, not just CLI tools on the same machine.
