Can Codex read and send X DMs messages? Yes. Codex adds the SealGate gateway as an MCP server, which lets it use your X DMs tools. Because it runs on your own machine, you can work with X DMs straight from the terminal while you code.

Can ChatGPT or Claude read and send my X DMs? Yes. Once you connect X through SealGate, your agent can read your direct messages and draft or send replies, from local tools or cloud apps like ChatGPT and Claude.

Do I need X API access or a paid tier? No. SealGate connects to your own X account through the Beeper desktop app, so there is no X API project or paid API tier to provision.
